Filing an Income Tax Return (ITR) is an important civic responsibility and a legal requirement for individuals and businesses in many countries, including India, the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Just filing the ITR won’t finish the process. One also needs to verify it. After the Income Tax Return (ITR) is filed and verified by the taxpayer, the Income Tax Department starts processing the return and verifying the information provided.
Both online and offline methods are available to e-verify the returns. An individual can verify Income Tax Return easily through his bank account. This option is available at many banks, and today we will tell you how to e-verify your ITR using Kotak Mahindra Net Banking.
Step 1: Step 1:Log on to the e-filing website
Go to the ‘e-file’ tab on the dashboard >> select ‘Income Tax Returns’ >> then select ‘e-verify return’.
Step 2: Select the option to e-verify via generating Electronic Verification Code (EVC)-Through Net Banking
Step 3: Once selecting the net banking option, you will be asked to select your preferred net banking, Select Kotak Mahindra Bank. On the Kotak Mahindra Bank login page, you’ll have to enter “CRN/ Customer ID” or “Nickname” (if you have set any) and the password. After this, click on the “Secure Login” button.
Step 4: From the various tabs on the dashboard, select the last tab, “More.” A drop-down list will appear, and click on the second option, “eTax.”
Step 5: Then on the left-hand side, from various options, select “E-Filing (Income Tax).” After this, opt for the state (under the jurisdiction where you have filed ITR) and tax type, then click on the “Submit” button.
Step 6: Accept the terms & condition box, then click on the “Submit” button.
Registering on the Kotak Mobile banking app is very simple. You can download the Kotak Bank app from Play Store or the app store. Login with your Customer Relationship Number (CRN). Find your CRN from your Debit/Credit card. Authenticate your account using a debit or credit card or net banking password, and then enter the activation code sent to your registered mobile.
You can find your CRN using two ways. First, your CRN is the number under your name on your Debit/Credit Card. Second, SMS CRN to 9971056767 from your registered mobile number to know your CRN.
Click on the “Forgot / Blocked Password” link to regenerate the password or “Password Locked?” to get your existing password on the Net Banking login page. Enter User ID (CRN) or Net Banking Nickname. Answer two mandatory questions. Select any method from Debit Card / Security Questions / Credit Card for additional verification. After verification, enter a 6-character password of your choice, and the other 6 characters' password will be sent to your preferred email ID and mobile number. Go to the login page of Kotak and then enter the password of 6 characters and the other 6 characters of the Kotak code sent.
Select the e-verify option, which is usually under the 'Tax' tab after that, you will automatically be redirected to the income tax portal. Click on the 'My Account' tab and select the 'Generate EVC' option. A 10-digit alpha-numeric code will be sent to your email and mobile number.
You can also register for Net Banking via these options.
