How To Find Aadhaar Card Enrolment Centres?

The Aadhaar card enrolment center is a place from where you can apply for a fresh aadhaar card or update an existing one. UIDAI is the authority under which all the aadhaar enrolment centers are working and are acting as registrars. In the enrolment center, you are required to provide your demographic as well as biometric information and the whole process of enrolment is performed as per the UIDAI guidelines.

You can apply for Aadhaar free of cost, although a certain sum of amount may be asked at the time of updating some information. Aadhar Enrolment Centers are established with the dual motive of issuing new aadhaar cards to fresh Aadhar card holders and providing assistance and other services to existing aadhaar card holders.

Process to Locate an Aadhaar Enrolment Center

Locating an aadhaar enrolment centre is not a big task now. UIDAI has given 3 methods through which you can easily find out your nearest Aadhaar enrolment center near you. It can be understood as follows-

  • On the home page of the UIDAI website, click on “My Aadhaar” and click on “Locate an Enrolment Center”
  • Now you will find 3 options through which you can locate an enrolment center- State, Postal Code and Search box. These can be described as follows-

  • Tick as per your your preference on “show only permanent centers”
  • Enter the Captcha code

Types of the Aadhar Card Enrolment Centers

There are two types of aadhaar enrolment Centers-

  • Permanent
  • Temporary
  • Aadhaar Seva kendra
  • Aadhaar Enrolment Camp

Permanent Aadhaar centers are established to process the Aadhaar card application as well as updating existing one. These are operated by authorised agencies i.e.- banks, post offices etc.

Temporary Aadhaar centers are normally formed in the form of a camp and work on a contract basis. Objective of these aadhar centers is different as compared to permanent centers, as they mainly focus on fresh enrolment.
