FSSAI Basic Registration

The FSSAI basic registration can be obtained by food business owners or companies that have an annual turnover of less than Rs.12 lakhs and the production capacity per day is only upto 100 litres or 100 kg. This includes petty food business owners like pani puri stalls, tea stalls, chinese food stalls, fruit shops, vengeful shops, vendors, local Kirana stores, hawkers, sweet shops, and other businesses.

FSSAI State License

This type of registration can be obtained by medium-sized food business organizations. The annual turnover should be more than Rs.12 lakhs but less than Rs.20 crores. This license is issued by the state government to the business entity. It includes businesses like vegetable oil processing, dairy businesses, manufacturing businesses, hotels, restaurants, and food manufacturing businesses except for dairy and vegetable oil units for processing, and other businesses.

FSSAI Central License

This type of registration is available to businesses having an annual turnover of more than Rs.20 crores. Such businesses are required to obtain a license from the Central Government. It includes businesses like health supplement food businesses, proprietary food businesses, food businesses on government premises, department canteens on the premises of the Central Government, e-commerce food businesses, export food businesses, etc
