Updated on: 21 May, 2026 02:43 PM

A Hindu Undivided Family (HUF) is considered a separate taxpayer under the Income Tax Act. Therefore, if you want to open a bank account, invest, buy property, or file income tax returns in the name of the HUF, you must first apply for a separate PAN card for the HUF.

In this guide, we explain the complete online process for applying for an HUF PAN card, required documents, fees, and common mistakes to avoid.
